Some may complain that it seems a little too similar to the recent Doom revival’s multiplayer, but hopefully Id Software has learned its lessons and is building on what they already did there. The game certainly looks action-packed and very brutal. Multi-verses seem to be very popular these days anyway and Quake's slip gates would really be "the No.1" tool for an id-verse to happen. Wouldn't be surprised if they open a multi-verse with Quake next as well. But I bet they return to that at some point as well :). Fans have been craving for a new Quake ! game for a while now and if I remember correctly id isn't interested in the Strogg-verse currently. Pretty sure it would it will be new Quake I style games though. Seeing what id put in DOOM Eternal on the table we should be safe no matter what. The series has been torn between this dark fantasy/Lovecraftian setting and quite generic space sci-fi.
